Research has shown that robust changes in the atmospheric circulation occur as a consequence of warming due to increasing greenhouse gases. These changes range from increasing water vapor, evapotranspiration, displacement of the midlatitude storm tracks and subtropical dry zones, etc. But how will climate change affect tropical weather?  This, turn out, is a complicated question since the tropical circulation is intrinsically related to clouds. An it turns out getting clouds right in models is particularly challenging.

Nonetheless, we can gain some insight onto how tropical variability will change by knowing how they are related to other climatological parameters that we better understand. These parameters include water vapor, mean precipitation and temperature.
